Android Best Practices for Beginners

This session will show you how to level up your Android development. The interactive code lab will teach you techniques to write compelling, responsive applications that look great across different devices.

Prerequisites:
  • Familiarity with Java

  • Attend Beginner's Guide to Android (9:30am-10:30am)

  • Review Android 101

  • Eclipse and the Android SDK installed

Introduction to Honeycomb

Honeycomb is the first Android version targeted at tablet devices. This session will introduce you to the new functionality and UI patterns that you can use to create tablet optimized apps.

Prerequisites:
  • Eclipse and the Android SDK (SDK Platform Android 3.0, API 11, revision 1) installed
